About
I am Dylan. A builder and a writer, and underneath both, a fairly restless, curious person. I spend most of my hours turning ideas into things that actually run, and the quieter hours writing about what that turns up. The two feed each other more than I expected.
Right now most of my attention goes to a new kind of product. The idea is easy to say and hard to build: let a single person run a whole company, and make it as simple as I possibly can. I have come to believe this wave of AI is here to hand us more freedom rather than more work, and I would rather help build toward that than write about it from the sidelines.
I write A Very Human because the questions I keep circling are not really technical. They are about what we choose to keep for ourselves as the tools get better at doing what we do. Attention, craft, family, the patience it takes to actually learn something. The parts of a life that do not compress. Good tools should make people more themselves, not less, and that is the standard I try to hold my own work to.
What I'm focused on now
- Building a product that lets one person run a whole company.
- Writing A Very Human consistently enough to leave a body of work behind.
- Helping more kids reach the kind of education that actually fits them.
